SPOILER WARNING! The following contains spoilers for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Episode 3! Do not proceed if you wish to avoid spoilers!
MAJOR POINTS
- Jod Na Nawood is most definitely NOT a Jedi
- The planet At Attin is hidden from the rest of the galaxy because it is in a nebula
- It has been hidden since before the fall of The Republic
On At Attin, Safety Droids tell the lost kids’ parents that they are on a starship outside of The Barrier. Since the ship is beyond The Barrier “The Supervisor” cannot risk contacting The Republic.
Jod Na Nawood (aka Captain Silvo, aka Crimson Jack) and the children flee the pirate haven. They meet up with Kh’ymm, the owl character we saw in the trailers, who tells them it has been hidden since the days of The Old Republic. She also warns them not to trust Jod because he will eventually betray them.
New Republic X-Wings circle the area as Jod tries to escape. He admits that he is lost, just like them and that he isn’t actually a Jedi. The group escapes in the ship and jump into hyperspace.
MAJOR QUESTIONS
- Did the pirates let Jod escape?
- Will Nawood have a change of heart? Or will he be selfish to the end?
- What the heck is The Great Work after all?
- Why were the other hidden planets destroyed while At Attin was spared?
FINAL GRADE: A-
This is the type of episodic TV I expected from Star Wars. Yes, it’s a family/kids show. Star Wars was always made with kids in mind. This is no different in my opinion.
The question remains as to why At Attin was hidden for so long and why people still live there. Kh’ymm states that the planets were hidden for safety and all but At Attin were destroyed. I also suspect that the crewman who spotted Jod let him escape in exchange for a piece of the treasure allegedly on At Attin. This is probably how the rest of the pirates will find their way to the planet in the final act.
