Lex and Braniac orchestrate strikes on Metropolis and perhaps other cities/countries with the goal of linking Superman to them. This may be part of the opening act with Supes fighting the kaiju monster, but it will be done to make it appear like he is faking being a hero and that he is actually leading an invitation. Mr Terrific, Hawkgirl, and Guy Gardner are tasked by Stagg Industries to apprehend Superman. Eventiually, Supes is handed over to Braniac, who imprisons him in a cube infused with red sun energy to depower him. Eventually, the truth comes out, possibly because of Lois’s work, which clears Supes’s name and rallies him for the final showdown against Braniac’s forces.
