Wanna talk geek cred? Top this: In 1980 alone John Hollis appeared in Superman II, For Your Eyes Only, Flash Gordon, and The Empire Strikes Back. Over a 40 year career, he also did extensive TV work, having appeared in The Saint, The Avengers, and the aforementioned Doctor Who.

In 1972, he played Professor Sondergaard in the Jon Pertwee story The Mutants, which has another Star Wars connection that we will get to in a moment.

To Star Wars fans, he is best known as Bespin’s silent but competent security officer Lobot in The Empire Strikes Back.
