MAJOR POINTS
- Barbara Gordon becomes Harvey Dent’s Defense Attorney
- Dent sacrifices himself by moving in front of a bullet meant for Barbara.
Opening Stinger: Barbara Gordon wants to defend Harney Dent in court. When he resists, she flips a coin and wins out. However, she reveals she used Den’t own double-headed coin.
Barbara proposes several options to get Dent a lighter sentence. He refuses them all, since he’s killed people. The Two-Face side slowly takes over and starts ranting that he is a weak crybaby. Batman later gives Barbara his contact number if she needs help.
Barbara takes Harvey in for the hearing when they are ambushed by tear gas. Bullock and Flass abduct Harvey and drive off in their car to kill him before he talks. Dent manages to kick Bullock in the back of the head and crash the car. Barbara rescues Dent from the wreck and speeds off. She phones Batman to meet them at the dock.
The heroes convene at the dock. Batman takes down thugs while Barbara and the others keep Dent safe. Gordon stops Bullock from shooting Harvey, only for Flass to take a shot at Barbara. Dent leaps in front of the bullet, sacrificing himself to save Barbara. Batman picks up Flass’s gun and fires the remaining bullets, purposely missing the terrified Flass. Gordon allows Batman to escape before the rest of the police arrive.
Sometime later, Rupert Thorne relaxes in his business tower now that Dent is dead. A batarang crashes through the window and cuts his ear. Thorne sees the silhouette of Batman across the street.
Elsewhere, intense laughter comes from within a small shack. Inside, several people are laughing maniacally before presumably dying. The Joker in the shadows holds up a syringe and says “Perfect…”
MAJOR QUESTIONS
- Is Dent really dead?
- Will we see more villains in Season 2?
FINAL GRADE: B+
This was not the best finale, but it sewed up all the loose ends and left on a good note with a Joker tease. I am skeptical as to whether Dent is really dead. I am also interested to see what takes on villains we might get in Season 2. Overall, this was a very good show. The good outweighs the bad and I am looking forward to more seasons if they happen.
