Legendary Actor James Earl Jones Dead at 93

James Earl Jones, the legendary actor known for his distinctive voice, passed away at 93. Born in Mississippi, Jones’s illustrious career spanned seven decades, encompassing stage, television, and film appearances. His most iconic role was as the voice of Darth Vader in the Star Wars franchise.

Beyond Star Wars, Jones’s portfolio includes roles such as Terence Mann in Field of Dreams, Admiral Greer in the Jack Ryan film series, and Mufasa in Disney’s animated Lion King and its live-action adaptation. He was also on the very first episode of Sesame Street, making him the first celebrity to ever appear on the children’s show. Jones holds a prestigious place among the 27 actors who have achieved EGOT status, having been honored with Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Awards.
