When David Tennant’s much publicized exit from Doctor Who aired in 2010, The BBC made a controversial choice by casting little known actor Matt Smith. Smith was not only the youngest actor to take on the role, but he had big shoes to fill by replacing the fan favorite Tennant. On top of that, Stephen Moffat was give the showrunner keys.
