“This is a swift turnaround for the project, which was shopped to other networks by Warner Bros. TV immediately after Fox opted not to go to pilot, with the CW emerging as the likely new home. I hear Fox brass ultimately decided that the superhero show was not a good fit into its already crowded genre drama space that includes the DC/WBTV series Gotham and Lucifer, Seth MacFarlane’s upcoming space dramedy, and two pilots: the X-Men-themed drama written by Matt Nix and The Passage; all are from 20th TV.”
Also on CW and produced by Berlanti, Riverdale had debuted and is pulling decent numbers.
On the review front, Seth and Train review the NBC sitcom Powerless with differing views. The show had modest numbers, so will it stick around? Especially since the show we got is not the show originally filmed.
“Unlike the episode that aired last night, this version of Powerless was undeniably cute. The story focused on a group of insurance agents who sincerely wanted nothing more than to help troubled people — the result of living in a city where superheroes run rampant and cause unquantifiable levels of damage — get the money they deserve. The team dynamic was apparent, and the group of genuine, caring coworkers was juxtaposed against their new boss, a typical comic book villain who only cares about getting rich, making for a promising setting.”
Marvel’s Agents Of SHIELD is back, and once again has hit the ground running. While numbers seem OK, the reception has been very good, averaging 8.5 out of 10 on IMDB. How has the LMD story played out so far? And has Jeffrey Mace won over Train and Seth with his backstory?

It’s been a long but fun ride as we close out The Power Of The Daleks. Mark returns to help Seth give his knowledge and insight for this animated adaption of the long lost Doctor Who classic.
Recently released on DVD and Blu-Ray, The Power Of The Daleks is an animated reconstruction of the first Patrick Troughton story originally broadcast in 1967. It aired only once in The UK, and was one of the casualties of a massive film erasing measure by The BBC in the early 1970s. Fortunately, the audio still exists and the animated reconstruction was commissioned by The BBC.

Over in the Doctor Who universe, Peter Capaldi confirmed that Series 10 of the revived show will be his last.
The middle part of the show reviews the mid-season return of the entire “Arrowverse”. Supergirl, Flash, Legends Of Tomorrow, and Arrow all made their premieres last week, and all four shows hit the ground running. The hopes and/or fears of Doctor Who fans worldwide have now been realized. Peter Capaldi is stepping out of The TARDIS for the final time at the end of 2017.
Capaldi himself confirmed his decision to leave on an episode of Jo Whiley’s BBC 2 Radio Show.
“I feel sad. I love Doctor Who. It’s a fantastic program to work on, and it’s been a huge pleasure to work with a family. I can’t praise the people I’ve worked with more highly.”
Peter Capaldi was first announced as The Twelfth Doctor at a live BBC television announcement in August of 2013. He made a very brief cameo in the 50th Anniversary special “Day Of The Doctor” before taking over The TARDIS from Matt Smith in the 2013 Christmas Special “Time Of The Doctor”.
Series 10 of Doctor Who premieres April 15th. Pearl Mackie will join the cast as Bill, while Matt Lucas will return as Nardole. The season will also be the last for showrunner Stephen Moffat, who will step down and hand the show over to incoming producer Chris Chibnall
This week’s Geekville Radio gives you a Star Wars fix AND a Doctor Who fix in the same episode. Episode VIII now has the official title The Last Jedi. What does this title mean? And what could this lead to with Luke and Rey? Seth flies solo to address these thoughts.
