Matt is at the bank on St. Patrick’s Day to get a loan from Yusef, Kamala Khan’s dad. The bank is held up by the Irish mob we saw in Episode 1. One thug takes Yusef to the bank vault to get a specific jewel held in it.
Police arrive outside the bank. Due to the holiday, there aren’t as many as normal. The negotiator is Angie Kim, whom we briefly saw in the first episode at Detective Chery’s retirement. While she tries to keep the terrorists talking, Matt secretly subdues one of the robbers and finds his way to the bank vault. Matt cracks the safe and gets the jewel.
Meanwhile, Angie talks to the mob’s leader, Devlin, to stall for time. Matt makes it back to the lobby and tosses the jewel to Devlin just as cops storm the place. Devlin puts on a cop uniform to slip out unnoticed and hands the jewel to an accomplice posing as a hostage. However, we learn that Matt actually hid the jewel in Yusef’s candy jar and tossed Devlin a candy piece instead. Once Matt catches up to Devlin and brutally breaks his leg, the day is saved.

- How did Devlin not see that the supposed jewel was candy?
OVERALL GRADE: B-
This was not a bad episode, though it was more the “villain of the week” type of one-off episode. The pacing was much like something out of Die Hard, just with Matt Murdock instead of John McClane as the hero. We didn’t get much of the main story, but it was still cool to see Matt fight bad guys without his Daredevil suit. It will also be interesting to see Vanessa’s reaction since she was the one keeping the crimelords in check.
