More rumors coming out about the Batman, with the latest being that Ben Affleck may bow out of the role. Collider reports in the video below about the rumor, stating he’s heard from multiple sources that Affleck’s time as The Dark Knight may already be over.
Ben Affleck, make no mistake, he wants out. He doesn’t want to be Batman anymore.
Seth and Crazy Train talk the possibilities of these rumors, and what the potential ramifications of such a change in casting so early in a franchise.
Speaking of Batman, Train gives his Lego Batman review, including mentioning some of the 500 plus Easter Eggs throughout the movie that ardent fans might catch.
Oh, and it’s worth mentioning that The Lego Batman Movie has topped 50 Shades Darker for the #1 movie spot for the second week.
In X-Men news, X-Men Gold writer Marc Guggenheim has made some controversial statements about the direction of the title going forward.
It’s more about the X-Men as heroes than the X-Men as a struggling minority fighting for their very existence.
It’s been a while since the X-Men have really been able to catch their breath and not worry about the end of mutantkind.
With Marvel’s Diversity movement (which Seth and Train discussed two weeks ago), some fans look at this as a step back. Train and Seth examine the statements and controversy, and give their take.
In the final segment of the show, Train discusses the recent episode of Arrow (coincidentally also written by Guggenheim) which addressed the controversial topic of Gun Control. However, Train points out this is hardly the first time a superhero comic property has provided social commentary. Seth and Train then talk the long history of social commentary that has been in comic books for many decades.
