This year’s May The Fourth is one for the ages. Not only do we have the debut of The Rise of Skywalker and The Mandalorian documentary to Disney+, but we also have the series finale of The Clone Wars. In addition, LucasFilm announced Taiki Waititi to direct a Star Wars feature film.
Finally, as if all that wasn’t enough, LucasFilm also announced a new Star Wars TV series to air on Disney+ run by Leslye Headland. Variety reported this last week, but Disney confirmed the news today.
Headland may be best known for her play and feature film Bachelorette. She also helped develop the series Russian Doll for Netflix.
This will be the fourth Star Wars series added to the Disney+ lineup, joining The Mandalorian, the Cassian Andor series, and of course, the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. No premise was revealed other than the series will look to be female-focused.
Could this be Doctor Aphra? Young Phasma? Something from The High Republic era? Time will tell. We certainly are interested in what you think.
