Major League Baseball has partnered with Ufotable, the studio that produced the popular anime Demon Slayer, to create this animated short promoting the Tokyo Series between The Chicago Cubs and The LA Dodgers in the Tokyo Dome.
Demon Slayer fans will instantly recognize Shakonji Urokodaki as a baseball commentator. He analyzes Dodger Shohei Ohtani’s breathing technique. The main protagonist Tanjiro Kamado also appears, practicing the signature breathing forms seen throughout the series.
MLB players Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Mookie Betts, Seiya Suzuki, Shota Imanaga, and Dansby Swanson also appear in the short. All six players will be part of The Tokyo Series March 18-19 in the legendary Tokyo Dome.
