Brian Blessed is a classically trained actor who has many Shakespeare and literary roles to his credit. He is perhaps most famous for playing the Hawkman Prince Vultan in the 1980 theatrical adaption of Flash Gordon.
Blessed portrayed King Yrcanos in the Colin Baker story The Ultimate Foe, where he somehow killed, then married, The Doctor’s companion Peri.
Blessed provided the voice for Gungan leader Boss Nass, who infamously made decrees official by slobbering during The Phantom Menace.
