Rumors have gone around for some time that Star Wars creator George Lucas may have some input on some of the upcoming next Star Wars series headed for Disney+. Most recently, some blogs and social media posts have pointed to the IMDB page for Andor, a series that is currently in production, as evidence because it credits Lucas for two episodes.
However, Lucas is only credited for “Characters” for those two episodes. All that means is two episodes will feature characters created by him, likely Original Trilogy characters. Thus, he is being credited as their creator. This is a common occurrence in TV and film. In fact, the page for The Force Awakens gives Lucas a writing credit, since it is “based on characters created by”.
While this may disappoint some, there is no reason to believe George Lucas will be penning any content for the Disney+ shows.
