Geekville Radio #358: Deadpool & Wolverine trailer, X-Men ’97, and The Bad Batch penultimate episode

We got a red-band Deadpool and Wolverine trailer and our usual looks at The Bad Batch and X-Men ’97!

0:50 – Deadpool and Wolverine Trailer

We first see Wolverine in (where else) a bar
Deadpool interrupts Wolverine in perfect Deadpool fashion
Another view of The Void scene we got in the previous trailer, complete with another look at the 20th Century Fox logo
A scene we’ve all waited decades for, HUGH JACKMAN IN COSTUME!
Could this be a row of tombstones like in Days of Future Passed? Or a border of some kind?
This is likely a dead variant of Wolverine because Paradox refers to him as “This Wolverine…”
Deadpool responds with low blows… or shots… of his own
The obligatory slow motion walk through a backdrop of destruction
Deadpool displays a Hard R level violence we’ve come to expect from a Deadpool movie
More of the initial throwdown between the two anti-heroes. Deadpool now uses the adamantium katanas we saw him get in the last trailer
Deadpool getting thrown (or punched) out of an SUV
Emma Corrin as the villain Cassandra Nova
The villains’ base appears to be inside the carcass of a dead Giant-Man variant.
The car from Captain America: The First Avenger
Wolverine gargles Jack Daniels because of course he does
This Mad Max tribute uses motorcycles from previous MCU movies
Cassandra Nova can forcibly control Wolverine’s actions, making him stab himself
Wolverine uttering “Let’s F***ing Go!” the tagline of the movie
The two frenemies jump through a portal to end the trailer

We know from the first trailer that The TVA sent a retired Deadpool to correct the timeline. Deadpool sees Wolverine’s corpse during this initial meeting. Given the rumors that Marvel’s Phase 6 will culminate with characters from the multi-verse, this variant may be destined to be in that final battle, which is why Deadpool has to grab him in the first place.

8:00 – X-Men ’97

I know I’ve said it often, but there is a lot of stuff on this show that wouldn’t have made the airwaves in the 1990s. Murder by suffocation is another one. Heck, even a funeral was probably too dark for Saturday morning TV.

We got a lot of hints and Easter eggs as well. Cameos from Captain America and General Thunderbolt Ross, a mention of The Hulk, and a hint at The Avengers. Having Bastion as the surprise villain is a very good twist since most of the attention was given to Sinister.

16:45 – The Bad Batch “Fast Strike”

What the heck are these boxes for?
