Masters of the Universe: Revelation utilizes classic Bonnie Tyler song for its first trailer

Ever since Masters of the Universe: Revelation was announced in 2019, fans have wondered what the show would look like. Two years later, that question has been answered. Netflix premiered the first trailer for the Kevin Smith run series today. Fans were treated to samples of Skeletor (voiced by Mark Hamill) and He-Man (voiced by Chris Wood) trading words. However, the latter half of the trailer is set to the classic rock anthem “Holding Out For a Hero” by Bonnie Tyler.

In a way, the pairing seems like a natural fit. Showrunner Kevin Smith made it clear that Revelation will be a direct sequel to the original series. He-Man and the Masters of the Universe first premiered in 1983 and “Holding Out For a Hero” was a hit song in 1984. There is no word yet as to whether any songs will be used in the series itself.

Masters of the Universe: Revelation is created and run by Kevin Smith (yes, the Clerks guy). It is set to premiere on July 23rd on Netflix.
