Seth and Crazy Train return to talk several subjects, ranging from Star Wars: The High Republic to C2E2. Specifically, the future of DC Comics and Marvel’s Empyre storyline.

Star Wars: The High Republic

Star Wars unveiled the new project, previously dubbed Project . It will tell stories of events approximately 200 years before The Skywalker Saga. Several authors are attached to the project so expect many novels and presumably comics.

C2E2 Notes

DC’s Future

This piggybacks off our previous episode which discussed the potential 5G reboot and the questions regarding DC Comics’ future.

Jim Lee had a panel on the main stage. He addressed rumors about DC Comics’ future. While he did not state specifics, he did say that the company is not going away.

I wouldn’t put any credence into it. DC has been around for 85 years, and we’ll be around for another 85 years. I hope to be doing this panel in 85 years.

As for the 5G project that will allegedly reboot the DC Comics Universe again, Kee stated that it was too early to give details

It’s hard to talk about things we haven’t announced… Our focus in talking to editorial team is to continue what we’ve done best: Character-driven stories, pairing right creators on right characters, and developing characters that are inclusive and diverse.

Could this be a release type statement or a form of doublespeak? Perhaps, time will tell. But he seemed pretty confident about the company’s future.

Regarding the 5G reboot, rumors about that it would involve killing off many of the current heroes and replacing them with new characters. If that is indeed the case, both Seth and Train winder how anybody that has any knowledge of these heroes would think it’s a good idea.

The New Batmobile

Speaking of reboots, Matt Reeves, director of The Batman, shared these first images of The Batmobile

Believe it or not, the classic 1966 Batmobile was a Lincoln

DC Universe

Several new TV series were announced, as well as exclusive digital content.

Ask Dr. Harley Quinn: Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Connor will tackle real fan questions for Harley to answer

Cross Country Comic Book Shop: A Reality show about comic book stores

Cosplay Clash: A look at how cosplayers prepare their costumes. The first episodes will focus on Wonder Woman

Arkham Escape: An Escape Room style game show where contestants will compete in courses inspired by Arkham Asylum and other Batman/DC locales

All-Star Games: Freddie Prinze Jr., Sam Witwer, Xavier Woods, and several voice actors play the 1980s DC Superhero Role-Playing Game.

Empyre

Marvel’s major storyline this year is Empyre. After decades of bitter war, the Kree and Skrulls have now aligned and are setting their sights on conquering Earth.

While it will center around The Fantastic Four and The Avengers, other characters in The Marvel Universe will be affected. Stormranger, Swordsman (who’s back from the dead again), Celestial Messiah, and a few others will have special one-shots or limited series.

Strange Academy

Perhaps the most interesting new title this year is Strange Academy. Like the name implies, it will be a school for kids with magic powers. Much like how Xavier’s School For Gifted Youngsters is for mutants.
