It’s the penultimate episode of the series! Will the heroes make it to Mount Tantis? Will Omega be able to plan an escape? Will Dr. Karr help? There’s only one way to find out!
SPOILER WARNING! The following contains spoilers for The Bad Batch Episode “Fast Strike!” Do not proceed if you wish to avoid spoilers!
MAJOR POINTS
- The heroes found Mount Tantiss and have a plan to rescue Omega and the clones
- Rampart has been re-captured by The Empire
- A Zillo Beast is also in captivity on Mount Tantiss
- Dr. Karr seems willing to help the heroes free the children
The heroes (and Vice Admiral Rampart) arrive at Mount Tantiss and quickly disengage from the transport. They manage to ditch the shuttle before it is shot down by TIE Fighters. They sneak through the jungle on foot to find their way into the base. Rampart tries to flee but is captured again by troops. Echo sneaks into Mount Tantiss in Stormtrooper armor and finds Omega’s location. He is spotted by Doctor Karr, who recognizes him and appears sympathetic to the cause of saving children. Omega sneaks through the shafts in the walls and finds a Zillo Beast imprisoned by The Empire. The episode ends with Karr asking Echo to trust her and Omega revealing she has an escape plan.
MAJOR QUESTIONS
- Will two plans enacted at the same time work? Or will the two groups keep missing each other?
- Will Rampart rat out on the heroes? Or does he have a conscience since they saved his life so many times?
- What will happen if the Zillo Beast is freed?
- Is Dr. Karr sincere in wanting to help free the children
FINAL GRADE: A
I’ve said it many times, but when this show clicks on all cylinders it’s as Star Wars as you can get. Everything from the show’s pacing to the environment to the banter between the characters has that swashbuckling vibe that made the films so great. It will be interesting to see if we get a longer finale than a standard episode because there is a LOT that can still happen.
