SPOILER WARNING! The following contains spoilers for The Bad Batch Episode The Harbinger! Do not proceed if you wish to avoid spoilers!

MAJOR POINTS

  • Asajj Ventress is back
  • The team finally learned what M-Count means

The Batch are back on their planet but haven’t heard back from Fennic Shand. Instead, they are approached by Asajj Ventress. She tells them that a high M-Count means great potential in using The Force. Naturally, The Batch are suspicious since they heard about Ventress from past files. But when they physically confront her, she singlehandedly mops the floor with all three of them.

Ventress runs Omega through crude physical tests to measure her potential as a Force user. During the training, Ventress raises the ire of the obligatory local monster. This time it’s a Kraken-like sea creature. However, they do not fight the monster, Ventress uses The Force to calm the creature.

On the mainland, Ventress warns that The Empire will never stop coming for Omega. When asked whose side she’s on, she replies “My side” and leaves.

MAJOR QUESTIONS

  • Where will Ventress go from here? Will we even see her again?
  • How exactly is retrieving a flower a measure of Force sensitivity?

FINAL GRADE: B

This got the show back on track. Now that the M-Count non-mystery is out of the way, we will hopefully get more progression of the main story. It’s a pretty safe bet we’ll see Ventress again, probably with the other bounty hunters we know are coming.
